Working Girls

I have a little flock of chickens. Fourteen hens and one rooster. The girls work hard all day doing chicken chores like eating bugs, producing fertilizer and best of all, laying eggs! They are very social! And they keep tabs on each other!
They have favorite boxes and will wait in line for their turn rather than use one of the others.
For several hours they cluck and fuss until everything is just right.
Finally they reward us with fresh eggs for our table and even extras to share with our friends.
Love those chickens.

Hi, I followed your link over from Heather Bullards's blog just to check out your chickens, too. I'm always looking for other small farmers to follow, to see how they also cope with the every day! Looks like you have some interesting stories. I have a small lavender farm in southwest Oklahoma. turkeycreeklavender@blogspot.com.
