Trip to California

March we made a trip to California to visit Mark and the boys.  While we were there we also visited Ray and Andy, Glynda and Tyler, and Matt and his family.
 Santa Cruz

We had dinner on the wharf with Ray and Andy.  After a nice visit with them and then with Matt, Brandi and Allison we headed to Clovis.
A visit to Cal State Fresno Ag Dept.
Archer and Odin checking out the lambs.
 Isn't Ronan handsome?
Next we headed across the street to see the cows.

A pretty little flower for Grandma.
A small carnival came to Sierra Vista Mall so of course we had to go!

Mark and Odin rode one of the BIG boy rides.

Let's go again.

 A trip to the zoo!
 They hand fed the giraffes.
 Petting the rays.
 Archer's arms are too short.

The petting zoo had a lot of cute goats.

The last thing before we left the zoo was a stop at the gift shop.  It was hard to pick out what they wanted but eventually they all decided.  We had so much fun and can't wait to go back soon.

Is It Over Yet?

Don't these guys look tired of all this snow?
These pictures were taken during some of last week's snow storms that hit our state.
We have been putting out food for the deer and birds to help them make it through this tough winter.
One benefit for us is the increase of wildlife this has brought to our little piece of paradise.
This guy seems to know the camera is there.
Hopefully the worst of winter is behind us as temperatures are predicted to rise into the 30's for the rest or the week.
But one never knows......Winter may still have some surprises in store for us.

1963 Trailer Update

Just thought I would update what is my newest project!  The 1963 Yellowstone trailer that I bought for glamping and craft shows is really coming along.  I have recovered some cushions, sewn new curtain and made an awning.  Plus I have added a lot of cool decorations!
Here is the dinette with the new color scheme.
We still have some work to do on the outside.  If you want to see more before and after pictures, check out my craft blog The Closet Crafter.

Did Our Chicken Coop Get An Attached Garage?

Naw, it is just the new pole barn!  Our chickens are not that spoiled....

This barn is going to be so great......all that room!  And it was built in one day.  Awesome.
Tomorrow they should put in the garage door and then the cement in a week or too.

This Summer Was All About the Grandkids

We made a trip out to California for Odin's baptism at the beginning of Summer.  Mark's boys are a hoot!
 Ronan-this is exactly his personality.
 Archer is such a sweetie.
Odin had Cub Day Camp while we were there.

This is Odin on a bed of nails----ouch!
 Getting ready for the Baptism.
It was hard to get them to stand still for a photo as the next few photos will show.......

When summer was in full swing we had the older grandchildren come for a week of cousin time.  The twins, Chloe and Phoebe, love all the country things to do here in Ohio.  One of our outings was a trip to an Amish Auction.  Fun!
Abby is getting so grown up.  Kill me now!

 Church on Sunday.
Eli had his Rain Gutter Regatta and we all went to support him.
 Abby, Chloe, Jenn and Phoebe.
Ron got enlisted as a judge.

Eli got 1st place!!!!
I don't even know what to say!!!!

New Pole Barn Going Up

Since our little vintage camper found a new home in Ron's barn, we found that storage space was getting a little tight!
So we bought a pole barn at the local Amish auction to store the "extra" stuff like the flat bed trailer and all the tractor attachments.  The Amish crew started at 7:00 am and at lunch time we snapped these pics.
Mom and Dad came up to the back pasture with me to check it out.  Plus we picked some tomatoes and a watermelon for them to take home.  The barn should be up by the end of the day and then next week they will put in the cement floor.  We are sure going to love the extra space!
